KIITOS kaikille Suomi-koululaisille tapahtumarikkaasta vuodesta! Toivottavasti teillä on ollut mukavaa olla mukana koulun toiminnassa.

Ensi lukuvuodelle on suunnitelmissa enemmän koulupäiviä, Suomi-piirin perinteinen joulujuhla ja itsenäisyyspäivän vastaanotto.

Meillä on haussa vapaaehtoinen hoitamaan koulun jo mukavasti karttunutta kirjastoa. Tarkoituksena olisi, että joku toisi kirjastolaatikon ja lehdet ainakin joka toiselle koulukerralle. Virpi hoitelee tällä hetkellä kahvilaa, mutta ei pääse joka koulukerralle joten tarvinnee sijaista ajoittain. Tanja on lupautunut jatkamaan isompien lasten ryhmää mutta saattaa ajoittain tarvita tuuraajaa. Taaperoryhmää vapaaehtoisena vetänyt Saara etsii seuraajaa – tämä pesti voidaan myös muuttaa palkalliseksi. Olisi mukava kuulla kaikista, joilla on kiinnostusta ja aikaa tukea Suomi-koulua. Kaikki ehdotukset ja apu otetaan ilomielin vastaan!

Lähetämme kesän aikana uutiskirjeen ensi vuoden koulupäivistä, suunnitelmista, vuosikokouksen päätöksistä ja toimintakertomuksesta. KIITOS to all the members of Suomi-koulu for the past year – we hope that you have enjoyed taking part in the school’s activities.

The plans for next year are already underway! We will be organising events including the Finnish community’s traditional Christmas party and the Independence Day’s reception with special guests during the next academic year. We are also hoping to have more school days.

We are currently looking for a volunteer to take care of the school’s library. The books and magazines are currently held in a box and hopefully someone would be able to transport the box to the school. Virpi has been in charge of making coffee but she won’t be able to make it to the school every month next year so we would need someone to occasionally help us out at the café. Tanja has promised to carry on running the Suomi-koulu group for older children but she might need help organising the classes next year. The baby and toddler group is also looking for either a volunteer or a paid teacher. If you would like to volunteer or teach, please get in touch with us. Any help is gratefully appreciated!

This summer we will email a newsletter with details about the school dates and plans for next year, decisions made at the AGM and the annual report. The school web pages are available at: www.suomikoulucardiff.org If you would like to join the mailing list or have pictures, announcements etc. that you would like to publish on the web pages, please email us!
